Letters & Comments

With the exception of the first e-mail I received about this magazine (see entry for Jan. 30, 2007, below), comments have been positive and encouraging. Thank you to all who contact me. Jane Geisinger, publisher

I love the concept of your magazine. Imagine a magazine for women without one diet or makeup suggestion. The article about dogs and domestic violence was an ahh ha moment for me. I also enjoyed the fitness after fifty. Use it or lose it. Good luck with the magazine. -- Jud, Santa Rosa, CA

My favorite was the insane letter to the editor before you even had a magazine..crazy person!!!! I also enjoyed Lynn’s article, especially having lived in Samoa for three years and noticed some interesting similarities between the island nations. -- Steve, Seattle, WA

Editor’s Note: The following was received by e-mail after I was interviewed by the local radio and newspaper about my upcoming magazine. This is before the first issue was published. It is copied “as is” from the e-mail. ~jlg
With all the problems going on in the world, and so many people not learning to lean on God, why start this type of magazine? God created both men and women, why do you feel a need to lift women up above men? We are no better than a man, God loves us both and equally. As I heard you on the radio and again in the paper, the focal point is the “global; warming” issue. You are a true follower of the liberal left, and have no brian power of your own. Do you see a melt down? As I see it, many states have been below their average lately. A few years back, we were to worry about ice age, now this. What about worrying about God’s return? Do you have any articles on that? Do you have any articles on how to stick with your husband after you are married? Do you have any articles on how we can stop our sons from watching porn on the computer, better yet, having their teachers, parents, etc give them condoms, instead of teaching it is morally wrong to have premarital sex? When you produce that kind of magazine, let me know. I am tired, of people spreading lies to our daughters and sons that say the men have to behave more like women. No they don’t, God created us differently, and I want to be a woman, and I want a man not a girly man for a husband. Why not read the perfect magazine, the Bible, and take lessons from it. It says do not worry, worry is a sin and it is a tool used by satan to make the people chaotic and turn from God to themselves. Where in this whole “global warming” garbage is the prayer to God to heal our land. Where is God? He is waiting for us to turn toward Him, not ourselves, we cannot fix any problem such as “global warming” because we did not create it. That said can we take care of our land better? Absolutely, but stop filling people with fear and empower them beyond their powers. God is the weatherman. As a matter of fact, weathermen rarely get the 5 day forecast right, how can they tell us about global warming? If you need help finding out more about God, and how He controls the earth, I would be more than happy to help. Please feel free to call me and you can go to church with me. I would love to share Jesus with you. God bless and have a great day. -- [name withheld by editor], Fergus Falls, MN
